I gave my kitchen a makeover recently, and since I love seeing other people's makeover pictures, I decided to post mine. I had always hated the green color scheme, and decided it was time to do something about it.This is a before shot of my kitchen. See what I mean about the green countertops? The lino also had a green diamond pattern.
Before shot of the pantry and microwave area.
"Before" shot of the table, corner cabinet and back wall. The paint was kind of a beige color. You can also see the green vertical blinds in this picture.
"After" shot of my "new" kitchen. I couldn't afford to change the melamine cabinets, so I just changed up the handles for now. Eventually I might put bead board on them.
"After" shot of the pantry area. We just painted out the trim around the doors, windows, and baseboards and the light fixture. Eventually I will change out the light fixture. The paint is Valspar Dove White.
I also couldn't afford a backsplash right now, so that is on the To Do list for sometime in the future.
A lot of the décor items were purchased second hand. I love the vintage canister set I got used.
No more corner cabinet or shelf. I can't decide what to put on this wall, so I am leaving it for now. We added bead board wallpaper and a chair rail.
Close up of my new counter top. It is Formica HD Jet Sequoia. It was the most expensive part of the makeover, coming in at $2000 (Canada).
Close up of my new vinyl plank flooring. It was from Lowe's and is Mohawk Uniclic in Caramel Hickory. I love it, but the dark color does show dust, crumbs, etc. very easily. Me and my Swiffer have become bff's.
You can see the bead board wallpaper and chair rail better in this shot. I kept my table and chairs, for now. Red curtains from Home Depot replaced the green vertical blinds.
