How To Cover A Tabletop In Fabric (And Make It Look Amazing)

When my little old granny gave me this yard sale table I decided to try something a little different with top.

After sanding the whole table to reveal a naturally beautiful tone underneath I decided to use fabric as a my medium for covering the top.

After sanding the whole table to reveal a naturally beautiful tone underneath I decided to use fabric as a my medium for covering the top.

I used a fabric that I ordered online at Minted.com and used Modge Podge to adhere the fabric to the top.

I poured the Modge Podge over the entire and spread it out with a brush.

I laid the fabric carefully overtop and spread it out being sure to get all the bubbles of air out with my hands.

After it dried over night I trimmed the edges with a utility knife.

Then used 3 coats of Polyurethane over the fabric to protect it and added some shoe molding for a clean edged look.

TADA!

Perfect!
