Vintage Bar Cart Transformation

I knew when I stumbled upon a killer yard sale that I was about to find something great. And I was right! My beauty of a find came in the form of an old, two-tier rolling cart. Price tag: $10. It was love at first sight, pleather and all.

Here she is in all her retro glory. Blue pleather on the shelves and some seen-better-days black plastic caster wheels. I knew I could do better!

Like I always say, there's nothing that a little spray paint can't handle! I've been crushing on gold recently, so I gave it a try. Bye-bye blue.

Then I cut out some chevron-patterned hot pink vinyl to recover the shelves with and give the piece a whole new vibe. Just lay your vinyl inside out underneath the shelf, trace around the shelf and then cut out your cover. All I can say about the next step is that hot glue (ouch!) was involved.

It turned out better than I ever could have imagined! And for less than $30!

I had a great time styling it with lots of vintage finds! Honestly, I think the styling was the most fun part of all!

I even whipped up some pink lemonade for the occasion!

Be sure to stop by the blog and see what other steps were involved, as well as all the great vintage finds I used to turn this rescued cart into a funky, vintage/mod bar cart.
