How to Repair and Transform a Vintage Dresser

I found a great dresser on CL that needed a little TLC and I knew it would be perfect for the contest.





Here is the Before photo-great bones but in need of some TLC





The finish on the dresser was a yellow with gold details and the appliques needed some patching. To fix the appliques, I put joint compound on the missing sections and when it was almost dry I shaped it with my fingernail ( high tech. tool-ha ha).





I wanted to keep the dresser pretty close to the original, so I pulled out Antique White chalk paint from The Urban Rooster and painted the dresser and mirror with two coats. After the paint had dried I distressed the edges and added gold gilding wax to the details. I just rubbed the gold gilding wax on with my finger-so easy!

































































I am in love with this dresser! Swoon!
