Cat Bed Crate

This is the easiest project ever! I picked up a bunch of old fruit crates at a yard sale and decided to use one as a bed for my new kitten, Maximilian. I used an old knitted scarf to edge the back of the crate and repurposed a bathsheet and piece of wooly fabric to cozy it up. He LOVES it. I have two cats and they fight over using this bed all the time. Time to create another one I think!

I cleaned the crate with Murphy's Oil Soap and water and left it outdoors in the sun to dry. Then I painted the bottom of it. Just because.

I added the bath sheet and the scarf. Underneath the bath sheet is a folded up piece of inexpensive carpet padding - the kind you put under a rug to keep it from sliding. It makes the towel feel more spongy.

And voila! A fruit crate is a cat's best friend!
